Scottish Working Class

Photobucket
Photobucket
Just purchased a book of Paul Stands portraits he took of the people of the rugged island of South Uist, off the west coast of Scotland.
Tir a'Mhurain: The Outer Hebrides of Scotland, taken in 1954, is the perfect documentation of a more simpler time and the style of what Scottish gentlemen were wearing. Since the past couple of days have been gray and clouds (my favorite time of the year) I always thought the vintage industrial working class look goes well with the atmosphere.

Eat in Style!!!! Dine in at McDonalds!!!!

Photobucket
After all, they do have free wi-fi in most locations now, but how predominate are we going to see more sleek, stylish, sophiticated interior designs for one of the most iconic (and at times infamous) American fast food chains? There's already one in NYC, two in LA and even one in Savannah GA. I'm thinking the only thing they're missing is a runway where they display their past wokers uniform and quite possible reveal future work garments, maybe something that will accentuate the "golden arches" term and make it into a furturistic hat! Or maybe reinterpret the McDonalds characters like Ronald and the Cheese Burgler into more fashionable comic book characters complete with three-piece suits. Who says kids can only trust a stranger weaing a suit?

A Place In The Sun

Photobucket
From what my good friend Emily said "Today is a Leather Day." So I decided to pay homage to Monty himself from the classic 1951 film "A Place In The Sun." If you haven't seen him in this film, you must! Here's a clip of the first 10 minutes. Pay attention to the first 3 minutes of the clip and you will see why James Dean was totally obsessed with Clift (maybe even ripped off).
